Listen to Carla Powers Keynote speech:
Carla Powers was the keynote speaker for The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Research, celebrating the resiliency of women. "Ms. Powers’ childhood was filled with obstacles, some of them perilous, yet she found the resilience to become a powerful litigator for Shell Oil Company. More importantly, she realized she was a powerful voice in helping others find their true purpose."
It is all about the WOW Factor, what makes us go WOW! Join The Women’s Fund on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Post Oak to celebrate the resiliency of women and to ensure the resiliency in the next generation of girls.
Do you know what make The Women’s Fund go WOW? The young women, ages 11 to 13, who attend the afterschool health education class “What About Me?” to learn the skills they need to make good health choices throughout their lives. They learn the resiliency skills that help them face the challenges of adolescence, like having a healthy lifestyle, making good choices regarding their bodies, and staying safe.
Celebrating the resiliency of women is exemplified by The Women’s Fund’s Keynote Speaker Carla Powers, author of Matches in the Gas Tank. Ms. Powers’ childhood was filled with obstacles, some of them perilous, yet she found the resilience to become a powerful litigator for Shell Oil Company. More importantly, she realized she was a powerful voice in helping others find their true purpose.
